The origin of the term humanities can be traced back to Renaissance Latin version studia humanitatis, which means 'an education befitting a cultivated man'. These disciplines explore, share, and recreate expressions of the human experience intended to provide general knowledge and intellectual skills. It is one of the popular traditional streams across India where most number of students choose to apply. Some social science subjects are intermingled with humanities,so often it is referred to as the field of social sciences. Likewise for PG programme, the candidate should have completed bachelor's degree in respective subject with Honors. A post graduate degree can give extra weightage to your application. Teaching is an another option for students in this field. One has to have a Master's degree in the concerned subject or should clear National Eligibility Test (NET) to qualify as a lecturer. Librarians are the guardian of library and they assist people in finding information





Aspirants who have successfully completed their training in psychology can get to work as Clinical Psychologist, Counsellor, educational psychologist or sports psychologist which are no less lucrative.
