THREE AMAZING ADVENTURES

20th Century Fox has collected several of and Gromit award winning shorts into a single DVD entitled Gromit Three Amazing Adventures Brilliantly animated, these shorts of the comedic claymation duo are getting a much needed DVD release.

The first short, and Gromit in A Close Shave (1995) won an Cocktailjurken 2012 Oscar for its animation. The endearing part of this short is its simple plot which grows into an elaborate scheme where Gromit is framed by a sinister dog that is owned by the possible one High Low Schoolfeest Jurken true love of Wallace. The plots of these shorts start off so simple and evolve with such great storytelling that as they unfolded I had to keep reminding myself that this was a cartoon and not live action.

The plot of Gromit in The Wrong Trousers (1993) started like so many early Eighties sitcoms. Gromit is afraid that Wallace has forgotten his birthday, he hasn What transpires next is pure comedic gold when the Trouwjurken 2013 duo takes in a new lodger that happens to be a Master Thief Penguin that dresses as a chicken. It was refreshing to see a sinister penguin especially after the influx of cute cool penguins we have had to endure over the past couple of years. Wrong Trousers was by far my favorite on the DVD. It had a classic Jerry moment and was a tad darker than the other stories but, fear not, the Batman and Robin of claymation were up to the task of bringing down the Master Thief Penguin.

The third and final adventure was also the oldest short in the collection. Grand Day Out with Wallace and Gromit (1989) had only been nominated for Oscar but its quest for cheese plot was epic in proportion compared to the first two shorts. The animation was cruder than the first two, so seeing where Nick Park came from and where he would go with these two characters was a real treat in appreciating the animation. They travel to the moon because it is the largest piece of cheese that they know of. Wallace and Gromit encounter a strange Dalek type while on their space adventure. This quickly steals the show.

With their simple plots that evolve into intricate adventures, style="COLOR: black">Wallace and Gromit: Three Amazing Adventures was great treat for someone who had never seen an entire and Gromit short before. These adventures are great for kids with their message, humor, and their lack of animated violence.
